LED PERFORMANCE CHART
Many buyers of LED replacement bulbs expect a brighter light to increase their visibility and safety. the reality
however is that many LED products use standard super bright 5mm LED that are often no brighter than a
conventional filament bulb.
These pictures demonstrates how much more efficient MOTOLED high flux LED's are compared to
other products available on the market.
LED FACTS
- Standard 5 mm LED's have limited brightness by design and are usually inexpensive.
- Because most digital camera's have automatic settings, performance pictures of LED's can be very
inaccurate and misleading. What appears to be a very bright LED light picture may be in fact a mediocre
brightness especially in a day light setting. For accurate rating, the following chart demonstrates LED
performance using a single manual digital camera picture setting.
- A weak LED can appear very bright if it's angle of vision is a narrow (10 deg). This type of LED will greatly
compromise side visibility. Motoled circuit board include 90 deg side angled and/or some 100 deg LED's.
- Motorcycle tail and signal lens's diffuse light to improve visibility, this is why MOTOLED high flux LED's are
designed to deliver maximum LED brightness using these types of lens.
